Wasatch Announces the Release of
Wasatch SoftRIP® 5.1.3

Salt Lake City, UT, April 19, 2005 — Wasatch Computer Technology has announced the release of Wasatch SoftRIP Version 5.1.3. This engineering release of SoftRIP adds new security controls as well as a variety of incremental improvements such as a center on media checkbox and recently released printer drivers.

With version 5.1.3 Wasatch continues the drive to improve user print quality with Precision Stochastic Screens (PSS) by retiring Digital Mezzotint from SoftRIP menus. PSS dramatically improves both print quality and RIP speed. It eliminates the possibility of "stairstepping" or "rainbowing" in the printing of subtle gradations, and improves the reproduction of all grays.

Users of older imaging configurations based on Digital Mezzotint will still be able to use these configurations with no problem. Users creating new profiles will note that Digital Mezzotint no longer appears in the halftoning window unless a special registration code is entered (contact Wasatch Sales for details).

Visit the Wasatch Website to learn more about profiling with PSS.
