For the advanced user, SoftRIP has the most extensive arsenal of color tools available in any RIP. With intricate controls and innovative tools necessary to implement even the most complex color workflows, SoftRIP is the RIP that color experts choose most.

Top Quality Color

SoftRIP is widely known as the best RIP for achieving high quality color. Our award-winning Precision Stochastic Screens (PSS) Halftone Method achieves excellent color reproduction with perfectly smooth gradients.

Match Colors on the Spot

With SoftRIP, you get the most advanced spot color feature set available with any RIP. Create your own database of frequently used spot colors by specifying shades using RGB, CMYK, or L*A*B*. Color Databases can also be imported from CIE Lab colors from Color Exchange Format (CxF) software such as PANTONE® Color Manager or through a simple import of an Excel or comma delimited (CSV) file.

Use Spot Color Capture to record a spot color with a handheld colorimeter. You can easily measure any color surface, from a swatchbook to a fabric sample. The CIE L*a*b* values that are captured go directly into the color database. This tool prevents spot color shifts from input profiles and rendering intents.

Profile–Free Spot Colors

Even if you aren't using color profiles made just for your print scenario, you can match spot colors perfectly with either our Color Atlas Generator or Color Neighborhood Analyzer. Use the Color Atlas to print a range of color swatches on your target media. Dial down your desired color in the Color Neighborhood Analyzer with its targeted test pattern around your chosen color. Reproduce colors exactly by entering your hue's RGB values into SoftRIP. These tools are great when you are using a modified profile or a print scenario that makes profiling hard.

Know More Before You Print

Wasatch's gamut tools let you set customer expectations you know you can meet while reducing wasted ink and media. Simply click on a color to see it plotted against the gamut of your output profile. Use Profile View to explain color issues to customers and select profiles with desired gamut characteristics.

Match SWOP & Pop

SoftRIP lets you match spot colors and dial up the color on your raster images, even in the same file. Our input profile and correction curve tools let you manage color independently in four different input color spaces (RGB/CMYK, Vector/Raster).
