Wasatch Announces New Precision Hybrid Screens for Superior Inkjet Film Output
Salt Lake City, UT,
April 29, 2004
—
Wasatch Computer Technology has announced the release of an innovative new Precision Hybrid Screen for the Screen Printing industry. Called "Precision Rosette/Stochastic Hybrid Screens", this revolutionary feature eliminates the "fourth screen" or "yellow" moiré.
This tool lets Wasatch SoftRIP® SP users print yellows and flesh tones without worrying about moiré or changing screen angles. Prints made with these separations exhibit the rosette structure that print buyers expect, while using stochastic screening to eliminate moiré.
SoftRIP SP makes this benefit incredibly easy to set up. Intuitive tools give users the power to quickly configure a stochastic screen in place of the yellow or 15-degree plate. The user can then adjust the stochastic screen dot size in microns, and is provided guidance for setting the appropriate dot size based on the selected Precision Rosette Screen. Wasatch makes it easy for users with varying levels of experience to achieve excellent results immediately.
This new release builds on Wasatch's exclusive Wasatch Precision Rosette Screens® (WPRS), a breakthrough technology providing the halftoning performance of imagesetting systems costing tens of thousands of dollars more. WPRS gave the industry perfect moiré free center filled Rosettes while this new feature takes it to the next level.
"People should be aware that although some other 3rd party RIP companies suggest that they can produce moiré-free rosettes, Wasatch is the only RIP for the ink jet market that really delivers," says Vice President Jay Griffin. "Get a sample print from any competitor and we feel confident that you will see how much better Wasatch is. The proof is in the printing!"
Wasatch SoftRIP SP has been a key tool to enable screen printers to save time and money with inkjet technology. The production of color separations on an inkjet printer is far more cost effective than outsourcing color separations to a service bureau. Furthermore, the ability to produce film in-house provides far faster turnaround in the pre-press department. Even screen shops with existing in-house thermal imagesetters can use SoftRIP SP driven inkjet printers as backup to primary systems. Wasatch continues to be the industry innovator allowing users to achieve their goals.
