New Oversize Warning for Page Oriented Printers Now Reflects Image Length
Salt Lake City, UT,
October 15, 2004
— In response to requests from owners of "page-oriented" printers, Wasatch has modified the crop warning in SoftRIP to reflect "length" as well as "width". Previously, when an image was larger than the width of the output device, a red and black hash mark would indicate the area that could not be printed. The operator could then adjust the size of the image or use SoftRIP's Tiling feature to divide the job into sections.
The new crop warning will also indicate when an image is too long for the printed "sheet", which may range from an 8-1/2" x 11" page on an Epson 4000 to a 4 x 8" foot panel of foam board on a flatbed inkjet printer.
