Print Mode:
Pressing the Properties button next to the Printer Model window on the Imaging Configurations screen will launch the control panel for this printer.
This page of the properties sheet allows you to select a print mode, the print direction, overprint.
- Print Mode: Choose resolution and ink sets.
- Special note on 'Offset' print modes. The 'Offset' modes shift alternating rows of dots. This allows for a
higher head speed for specific combination of pass counts and dot sizes. Example: 360x720 Offset with Medium dot
and CR 2 Pass will print at a faster head speed compared to the traditional 360x720 print mode.
- Pass Count: Select pass count / Overlap
- Wave Effect: Select the wave pattern to print with.
- Dot Set: Select the dot set to use.
- Dot Size: Select the size of the dot to print with in the selected dot set
- Overprint: Select the number of times the printer prints over the printed area. For example, if 2 is selected, the amount of ink laid down is double. The maximum value is 9.
- Speed: Displays the head speed for the selected Print Mode, Pass Count, and Dot Set combination.
- Print Direction: Print in Unidirectional (one direction), Bidirectional (both directions), or Unidirectional Left to Right (one direction as head returns to home position)
- Auto Cut: Enable or disable paper cutting after the print
- Time Between Passes (sec): Allows you to specify the minimum time that a printhead pass will take. This may be necessary to slow down the printhead when there are excessive drying problems, or when printing separations onto film. For example, it may be necessary to increase the dot size to a larger dot to increase the maximum density.
- Ink Dry Time After Print (sec): Specify dry time after printing is complete. (in seconds)
Media:
The Media tab allows you to select options to fine tune the type of media installed.
- Use Advanced Settings: Choose whether to disable the advanced settings
- Media: Select basic media type
- Media Stiffness: Will adjust the power of the media vacuum
- Paper Feed Calibration: Enable to adjust the amount of feed correction necessary to eliminate micro-banding
Advanced:
When you click on Advanced, the following Properties page will be displayed:
The Color Separations controls are only available if a monochrome mode has been selected on the Print Mode tab.
- Make Separations on RIP: This will cause the RIP to separate the image into CMYK plates.
- Make Negative: This inverts monochrome images when printed.
- KCMY: This allows you to print monochrome images directly to any one of the printheads. This is especially useful to eliminate overuse of a single printhead when printing only monochrome.
