You must install a registration code to enable the drivers for these printers. Contact Wasatch customer service to obtain this code.

Important Note: Remember that color reproduction is controlled by ICC color profiles, and not by Wasatch software. We have not been able to get these printers into our lab, and therefore we have not been able to create any color profiles for them. You should contact your dealer for further support with ICC color profiles, or arrange to produce your own.

Usage:

• Print Mode: Select the printing resolution.


• White Ink Options:
  
  • No Auto Generation (use inline head): This option can be used for spot color replacement to the white ink channel, or with multichannel files that define an extra "white" channel. This uses the white print head that is inline with the other print heads. This selection tells the printer to print white ink at the same time as the non-white colorants - the offset white printhead will not be used.
  
  
  • No Auto Generation (use offset head): This option can be used for spot color replacement to the white ink channel, or with multichannel files that define an extra "white" channel. This uses the white print head that is offset from the other print heads. This mode is designed for printing white ink before any other colorants are printed. With this mode non-white colorants can be printed directly onto the already UV cured white ink (which is printed from the offset head) during a print job.

  • Auto Generate White Fill: White is printed at any point where no other color is being printed.
  
  
  • Auto Generate Full White Page: Generates a white plate for the whole page size. Choosing a 1/8 inch spread applies a white spread in the margin or nesting gap of the page size.
  
  
  • Auto-Generation White Image: White is placed at any pixel in the image that is not CMYK 0,0,0,0. Choke and Spread allow you to control how the white ink expands or contracts at the edges of the image. Choke 'erodes' the white from the edges, and Spread expands the white over the edges.
  
  
  • Auto-Generate From Traced Areas: The unmanaged color will be applied only to the traced areas that have been set using the Trace tab in the main Softrip interface.
  
  
• Destination Folder: Select the folder you would like the output file to be saved in.

Note on White Ink Spot Color Replacement

Spot Color replacement can be used with the white ink channel to designate areas of the print where white ink should be printed. The steps to use this work flow are:

1. Select one of the two "No Auto Generation" white ink print modes in the driver properties.
2. Right click on the area that you want to have white printed to.
3. Choose to perform a spot color replacement to 'Device (bypass color management)', and choose the 'White' option.
4. Enter the density of white ink you want to print (we recommend always using the maximum density setting, 255).

The areas marked with red and white strips are the areas in which the white ink will print.
