Katzer Printvision GmbH
For Full Service Printing
"Wasatch meets all the requirements for our printing and cutting workflows," says Dirk Katzer, President. "SoftRIP's ease of use, direct-to-layout workflow, efficient Queues management, and program stability make it the RIP of choice for us."
Wasatch SoftRIP has played an integral role in helping Katzer Printvision GmbH, a full-service grand format print shop, provide their clientele with high quality products and services. Founded in 1972, Katzer Printvision GmbH began solely as a screen printing shop. Over time, their business has grown and they now provide digital printing, sign making, promotional items, graphic design, stickers, vehicle graphics, trade show exhibits, direct-to-plate printing, and much more.
The RIP of Choice
After trying and rejecting the RIPs commonly sold with their grand format equipment, Katzer Printvision GmbH chose SoftRIP to handle their printing needs. "Wasatch meets all the requirements we have for our printing and cutting workflows," says Dirk Katzer, President. "SoftRIP's ease of use, direct-to-layout workflow, efficient Queues management, and program stability make it the RIP of choice for us."
This large shop uses Wasatch SoftRIP to run their HP Scitex XP2700 and XP2750, Océ Arizona 350 XT, and multiple smaller large format printers. Wasatch SoftRIP's unique cutting workflow integrates printing with their Zünd G3 3XL 3200 cutter.
SoftRIP Version 6.7, which provides enhanced finishing workflows and expanded support for Zünd cutters*, has been especially instrumental in helping Katzer Printvision GmbH improve their production process and efficiently meet the needs of their clients. "With SoftRIP, we can print barcodes in the margins of jobs and name files to match these barcodes," explains Dirk. "Then, we can scan the barcode and pick the correct corresponding cutting file. This speeds our production process, as the file contains all the cutting settings we need, and virtually eliminates errors."
With the ability to stretch bar codes, set cutting mark intervals, and add barcode prefixes directly in the print setup screen, Katzer Printvision GmbH can quickly customize cut marks to work for nearly any situation. That flexibility, combined with SoftRIP's simple setup, intuitive workflow, and powerful print controls, allows Katzer Printvision GmbH to offer their full range of printing and sign making services all from one location.
