Defender Instructions:
Some computer systems require the configuration of custom exclusions in Microsoft Defender antivirus for Windows security, to ensure proper functionality and avoid conflicts with specialized software or with unique system configurations.
Setting an exclusion for Wasatch SoftRIP in Microsoft Defender:
If Wasatch SoftRIP is flagged after download:
- Open Windows Security from the system tray.
- Select Virus & threat protection.
- Select Protection history. (about half way down the page under "current threats"
- Select the "Threat quarantined from the list. Verify that the affected items are the correct 'WasatchSoftRIP.exe'.
- Select the Actions dropdown and Restore.
If Wasatch SoftRIP is flagged after install or if you want to create an exception folder to avoid future issues:
- Open Windows Security from the system tray.
- Select Virus & threat protection.
- Select Manage Settings.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and select 'Add or remove exclusions'.
- Add an exclusion for a folder where you will install the application. Use C:\builds & install there to avoid any issues.
