Separation Film with the Epson SC-T3700/5700/7700
Wasatch SoftRIP produces quality separation films up to and above 125 lpi on these printers. Some older releases were limited to separations at about 75 lpi and lower, but with Epson's cooperation, we have bypassed that limit.
The Epson SC-T3700/5700/7700 models are suitable for making separation films using AM, FM, and Hybrid halftones, for screen and flexo printing.
Imaging Configurations are available for download from the Wasatch Cloud, to provide starting points at 55, 65, 85, 105, and 125 lpi. We distribute these using the basic halftone included with Wasatch base subscriptions, so that they will work for all Wasatch subscribers. Users of the high-end Wasatch SP Option can easily swap in Wasatch Precision Rosette Screens, or different lpi, as needed. Customers who spend time on careful adjustment of the printer are reporting success up to 150 lpi.
In our offices, using Epson original ink, we measure a UV density of 3.7 with our transmission densitometer.
