A Note about System Requirements
The faster your CPU, the faster the software will process your images. Therefore, it is advisable to buy the fastest computer you can. While more RAM will also help speed up the processing, it is the speed of the CPU that directly affects how fast SoftRIP runs. If you are processing large files over 100 MB in size, it is also advisable to upgrade your hardware configuration to include significantly more memory than the minimum requirements suggested above.
Wasatch SoftRIP can process more than one image at a time and take advantage of multiple CPUs for this purpose. For every additional processor in your computer, it is recommended you increase the amount of RAM, to roughly a gigabyte per processor.
It is important to use solid state drives on systems that are intended for use in high-speed or high-resolution printing. For high speed, solid state drives should be used for the SoftRIP installation, and also for all Print Queue folders.
